Why I would never want to become a social media expert?

Remember back in the 90ies? Each person capable of doing something a little bit more complicated than turning the PC on and starting the desired program, was a computer genius. If someone could type on keyboard pretty fast, than he was an expert. Installing a program? Noooo… You have to call an expert for that. What happened to these people, when kids grew up. The kids that could do all of these things with eyes closed, while playing scrabble. Oooh and BTW everything got a lot easier to do.

So here we are XXI century decade of social media madness, social media experts, journals, analysts, companies, blabla… What for? Every kid is better in managing social media profile than most of these people and companies. And every kid has a lot of friends with the same skills. You think the world is going to need so many social media experts when all of these youngsters grow up and go to work?

NO! It’s gonna be just another necessary, basic skill everyone os gonna have to know. So who is gonna need all these social media experts? Just a few exceptions probably. If I were you I wouldn’t go for this kind of career in long therm planning.

Banners for Euro2012: Tax-office facked us for 1,9 million

Image

Although there are no Euro 2012 Championship games in Polish city of Zamość, one of its entrepreneurs prepared special banners for Euro 2012. He’s yet another victim of famous Polish tax-office. The one that makes devastating effect on lots of Polish companies. Without any reasons or notices, the tax-office didn’t make a tax-return of 1.9 million PLN (about 430 k Euro) to the company. The entrepreneur – Zbigniew Stonoga had to fire 15 persons so his company wouldn’t close. The mistakes are on purpose, so he won’t get any ticket for this. If I were him I would expect millions of rutine controls from many different offices and state-bureaus which met robbed A2 highway constructors

Why all these how to start a blog articles suck

A.K.A. how to mess up your blog from the beginning. You start a blog… and you start reading about how to start a blog. And boy are those posts just WRONG. Most of them write quite good tips like ‘share it with your friends’ etc. etc. BUT almost all of these ‘how to blog successfully’ posts tell you 1 BS:  write at least 1 post a day. And all I see is a flood of blogs trying to keep up with post rate of Mashable, Thenextweb or TechCrunch or any other. Continue reading

Skittles, are you sure you want to ignore The Trevyon Martin case?

Skittles Trevyon Martin issueI won’t write about rights or wrongs of this event. Instead I will just make an observation: Skittles – wrong place at the wrong time. Boy how messed up this whole situation is for their PR department.

Unintentionally and completely not due to their actions, they have become part of nation-wide anti-racism-murder campaign. Their product wast the main witness and became one of the symbols of the Trevyon Martin case. And how do you live with that?

Kony 2012 from a different point of view – from Uganda

Western media are praising Kony 2012 campaign or criticizing it… if so, they do it mostly because it’s a yet another campaign run mostly on the Internet, without the TV or radio. It shows where the TV and other traditional media are heading. But Al Jazeera is a media company with a little different point of view and interests. That is why you should check out their report on the #Kony 2012.

Lets say you’re the government… and you see that something like the Internet goes out of control

GovernmentWith all this SOPA buzz going around lets stop for a moment and put ourselves in governments body. So you are the government, your goal? Wealth of the state? Kind of, because everybody cares mostly for himself, caring for the other organization like… the state is usually put behind the personal interests. Don’t forget about this fact in further reading of this post.

What governments like and what they dislike? Government like every other organization has its assets. Although in this case, these assets are vast – it’s the whole country, its resources, people, capital, technologies, infrastructure etc., etc. The government loves the idea of control over these assets. What kind of people work on SOPA

SOPA censorshipHey there are pictures from satellites here, this isn’t good. Goddamn! I can see the White House, damn! My summer house is on that thing, I wonder if… nooo this is also on this website! We have got to take this of the Internet, how you call it? Google maps? I hope the Russians haven’t seen this already. This has satellite view of everything! Not safe! Very dangerous! I hope China had this site blocked, so they won’t see these pictures.

Laugh or cry? To us this level of Internet knowledge is funny, but let us not forget that these kind of people make the law in many countries, and even if they don’t, they do have the influence and power.

There is 1 thing that worries me about clouditems

Just before I will share that disturbing thought with you I must say: I’m a BIG fan of clouditems idea, even though I haven’t seen it yet – it hasn’t been public yet. I love the idea of reusing, sharing, giving away etc. of items and materials that we don’t need but other people may want it very much. Check my post about sharing everything to know the idea.

Now about the potential downside… Recently there has been a lot of fuzz about occupy wall street movement. The 99 percenters demanded bringing to justice those rich bankers, they’ve showed their disapproval of the current situation. IMO they were all wrong. They were in the wrong place. It’s the White House that should be occupied not the Wall Street. It’s the White House that made those bankers feel safe and secure so they could risk all of our money and get away with it. They were bailed out, they knew they could do anything, because the government would help them in case of emergency. Continue reading
